Stiles took the dare, because what else was he supposed to do when the whole lacrosse team was chanting his name? Even though the werewolf pack had left Beacon Hills years ago, nobody was stupid enough to set foot on the Hale property.
Except, apparently, Stiles.
Now he's got a feral werewolf following him around town with the sole purpose of claiming Stiles as his own.

“Stupid.” Derek scowls at him, and Stiles glares right back. “So what did you find out?”
Or the five times Derek saves Stiles, and the one time it’s the other way around.

Summary
There’s a tall figure standing just inside the doorway, covered head to toe in melting snow.
They are layered up so heavily that Derek wants to laugh for a second. Just for a second though, he wouldn’t want to encourage too much frivolity, save anyone not take him seriously enough.
He’s a pillar of the community, he has a reputation to uphold. He settles for one faintly amused raised eyebrow.
Deep, intelligent, golden brown eyes peek out from a tiny gap remaining in the person’s general facial area, from where a bright red scarf is wrapped up so high it’s covering their nose, and a garish yellow Pikachu bobble hat is pulled down right over their eyebrows.
They look completely and utterly ridiculous.
Also, deep, intelligent, golden brown eyes is an absolutely unnecessarily detailed way to describe a stranger’s features. Derek checks himself. He shakes his head. The exhaustion is making him delirious, clearly.

Derek growled, “We are not a pack of Gray Wolves.”
“Pity. Fourth place is still pretty good though. It would have been nice to win the gold but- wait a second… If gold is for first place, and silver is for second, and bronze is for third. Then what does fourth place get?”
Derek growled as he resisted the urge to lunge across the couch and show Stiles exactly what fourth-base looked like.
“Who cares?”
“I do, Sourwolf. But I’ll look that up later. For now, I want to see if there’s anything else that I can learn about Gray Wolves.”
