The contrast of his dark hair and tanned skin. The swell of his calf, too, Zoro finds distracting. The artful leanness of his captain.
In those moments Zoro’s knees go weak. He nearly drops his swords, he’s so overcome with it.
Beautiful, he thinks, and he’s got no clue if it’s him or his alpha thinking it. Beautiful. We'd be so good to you.

Armand blinks. He appears confused by the notion, the same way Louis looked puzzled when Daniel called Armand his boyfriend. Maybe, Daniel thinks as he watches a minute frown appear on Armand's brow, a little annoyed as well. "You insist on judging us by mortal standards. Louis has been my companion for seventy years, and we have eternity to look forward to."

After a month in Dubai, Daniel Molloy is back home and miraculously alive, eager to get to work on his first draft. The vampire Armand has other plans.

Summary
Daniel is sprawled out across the bed, loose-limbed and lazy, somehow filling all the open space it has to offer and leaving Armand to nestle into the gaps. His cheeks are flushed, blood pooling like it knows what comes next. Maybe it does. Armand was reading about classical conditioning the other day. About dogs who become accustomed to getting food when their handler rings a bell.
Perhaps Daniel is the dog, Armand’s teeth sharp bells reverberating in his veins. Or perhaps Armand is the dog, Daniel’s blood a song rattling in his ears. He has been a dog before. He runs his tongue along the bow of Daniel’s collarbone, gathers the salt-sweat there and imagines what it tastes like because Daniel does.
Armand remembers he loved Daniel, once, and that Daniel loved him. Or a version of them did, at least. It isn't his intention to go back to that, but it's not not his intention, either. Such is the prerogative of an immortal: to hold two contradicting desires simultaneously. If nothing else, it passes the time while he waits for this miserable interview to end.

Summary
Regret is not something Dr. Hannibal Lecter is accustomed to feeling, but it struck him the first night that Will Graham was unable to meet him at his usual appointment time due to his arrest for the copycat killings. After the sick man's escape from his medical transport, an opportunity arises for Hannibal--one where he is able to clear Will's name and shift his plans from trapping the profiler behind bars in order to preserve his own freedom to one where he can continue to foster a deep rooted codependency that would ensure Will's inability to leave him, even if he were to learn the truth of who Hannibal really is.
