“Oh, oh, oh no. I’m dead. I’m dead aren’t I?,” she asked herself out loud, “oh my Irene, I’m dead and this is my life flashing before my eyes.” She barely notices the tears starting to gather in her eyes as she raises her hands to her head.
Zane notices as well and quickly reaches out to grab both of her wrist. She looks up at him and he stares back intensely at her. His eye darts around her face searching for something.
“Aph…” He hesitantly asks, “is..is that you?”

Summary
When Laurance steps through the portal he is taken somewhere he could never even imagine, the past. He wakes confused and in pain, yet the inferno of rage in his heart was… gone.
In some sick mirror of what would be his final entrance to the nether, he had appeared during his first escape from it, with eyes unseeing and tortuous pain searing his skin. After orienting himself in his new time, in the new yet old body of his, he makes it his new mission to change the past and protect his lord. Even if he can’t find it in his heart to love her, he will always protect her.
