"They're taking the Rufus and Lily route." Rory says, like that sentence makes any sense.
"The what?" Her daughter squawks, which is the correct reaction to realising someone's been reading the Gossip Girl archives. The rushed whispering that follows doesn't bode well though. Especially not when Blair hears her son scoff impatiently.
"In English, Humphrey?!" Henry's faint French accent becomes more pronounced.
"They're in love." Birdie finally says, and Dan exchanges an alarmed look with Blair. The contemplative silence that settles into the room afterwards is all too conclusive.
