Khem’s lips under Chatra’s thumb were a warm, wet promise he ached to fulfill. Chatra had peeled off each layer of the expensive gold costume, as was their habit after each dance. The priceless fabric had left the indentation of its seam pressed deeply into Khem’s golden skin. Chatra now held his lover’s face by the chin, his thumb a caress that slid across the deep red rouge, as if searching for something real beneath the artifice.
“You did a good job today,” he whispered.
