Damian watched Nika trade playful blows with Cass. Their movements on the training mats were fast and lithe. Although Cass had the upper hand, Nika was holding her own. “No,” he noted. “I didn’t.”
“I wasn’t talking about the girl, Damian.”
The past few years have been rough on Damian. Now that everything is finally looking better, Dick has a heart to heart with his little brother.

If only she had been more like Mila, perhaps then they might have loved her. But Nika was not her sister. At the end of the day, they could never understand her connection to the macabre. Not now, and not ever.
Where they saw black, Nika saw white. Where they saw the end, Nika saw a beginning.
Where they saw a disgrace, Nika saw herself.
For her entire life, Nika had always been obsessed with death. As Flatline, she was free to explore that connection through her powers, no longer bound by the judgement of her family. But as the years passed, Nika came to believe that reconciliation, especially with her sister, Mila, was impossible.
That is until Robin, Damian Wayne, presents Nika with the opportunity to do what she never thought she could.

Now she understood why the tabloids wanted to see Damian at the beach so bad. She’s seen images of his father before, but Azar, she didn’t think the Wayne genes would be that dominant. Then again, from what Raven’s seen of her, the fact that his mother was Talia al Ghul of all people probably made his genetics downright unfair.
At least it seemed to be the case in the genetics department. The scars that spattered his body, and the incident they caused, pointed towards something less enviable about him. Raven chewed on her lip and pressed her knees together. Her heart fluttered in her chest.
This might be a problem.

“We?” Raven squinted her eyes and furrowed her brow in confusion. “You want me to join you? Damian, I-” She paused, her voice trailing off as she contemplated his words. Inside of Damian’s heart, the burning flame of hope flickered. “Why me?”

another explosion comes and goes and, as usual, refuses to take robert with it. with the fate of the suit uncertain, he’s forced to confront the truth he’s been avoiding: the suit might never give him the ending he’d spent half his life expecting. which leaves him with the one outcome he’s utterly unprepared for—being alive in a room full of people who actually give a shit.
