   Summary

   In which Maud Beaton swindles Oscar, making off with the van Rhijn fortune; and Marian resigns herself to marrying Cousin Dashiell to save her aunts from financial ruin.

   Larry has an alternate solution. It just might take him a while to get there. It might help if he could figure out why he's so angry about Marian's engagement.

   Meanwhile, determined that his cousin not sacrifice her happiness for him, Oscar tracks Maud down, with a third solution in mind. Good thing he doesn't tell anyone in New York about his plans. Clear communication would make everything much too easy.
