I'd be the first to admit that Self Inserts can be simultaneously good fun and painfully cliche but...when I wake up, in a fucking womb of all things, I can almost sense the Universe laughing at my trolled ass. Whilst trying to help a green-haired cinnamon-roll, learn a new language and become a Pro to keep an eye on my reckless twin brother...you end up with two Bakugous at UA.
AKA I'm in a fictional universe with an identical twin who needs to chill the fuck out and help me figure out our alibis (Hey, you know I can't help the whole 'fire' thing!)

In this weave those who are called "nobles" in Yurgenschmidt are actually vampires that feast mainly on mana.
If they don't, then they might end up like Ferdinand, who is quietly starving in the temple lacking a trusted source of unpoisoned mana. But that's okay, since he has work to do and no time to waste on such primitive needs anyway.
Justus however disagrees. Fortunately, he soon happens upon one particularly mana-rich Devouring girl. The course of action is now clear to him.

Summary
Rumi looks down. “Your soul,” she whispers mournfully, enraptured by the blue light trickling out of his chest. “It’s beautiful.”
Jinu smiles.
Gently, he presses his forehead against hers. Rumi jolts, eyes widening, but to his relief, she doesn’t pull away.
“My soul,” he echoes softly. “It’s yours, now.”
Rumi opens her mouth, but no words escape her as she gapes at him. A tear cascades down her cheek.
“It’s mine to give, and yours to take, if you’ll have me.” His vision is blurring, and so he lets his eyes fall shut, allowing the darkness to encompass him. He forces himself to believe that the lull of sleep is accepted of his own volition.
His cheeks tingle. Rumi is holding onto his face. “No, no, no—” she grits out. Her voice is growing distant. “Stop. You can’t do this to me.” The words rush out of her in a frenzy, full of haste and distress. “Jinu.”
“Rumi,” he responds in a broken murmur. “Thank you.”
She was right. Gwi-Ma could be defeated.
He should have listened to her.
(Or: A fix-it/time-travel au where Jinu goes back to the very beginning of the story and sets things right.)

Summary
Jinu can’t leave without Gwi-Ma’s permission, but sometimes he stands under the open and roiling sky and watches the barrier cascade in musical waves overhead, thousands of glimmering blue filaments that undulate with deceptive delicacy, offering, if even for a second, a glimpse of an overworld that rouses itself to song. It is not lost on Jinu that he serves a warped inverse of that purpose down here.
But demons don’t flock to his music. They shy away from it, wilting rather than blooming, because on a very literal level they understand that his voice isn’t for them. Gwi-Ma is a jealous god, and he cannot abide it if the rewards that his gifts reap don’t return to him, always, in the end.
Or: In which Jinu makes choices (a real mixed bag of them), trips into a situationship, regrets everything, lies to himself and others, and decides he wants to be a better person after all, actually—not necessarily in that order.

He opened his mouth to reassure his uncle, to tell him that he’d be able to start running in just as second, just as soon as the world stopped spinning, but instead all he muttered was, “I’m tired.”
When Iroh brushed against the back of Zuko’s head the pain there abruptly muscled to the front of Zuko’s list of issues, and he gave a loud groan. Iroh pulled back quickly, but Zuko could see that his hand was now dripping with blood.
“Then you should rest, Prince Zuko,” Iroh said, his voice calm and controlled, which would’ve been very nice if the lines of concern on his face hadn’t been so obvious. Zuko watched blearily as Iroh began to look sharply around them, apparently assessing something. “A man needs his rest.”
The world started getting hazy again, but the lack of attempted movement was a slight improvement. A series of shouts pulled him back from the creeping numbness, and Zuko forced his eyelids open.
Iroh was waving his arms, signaling to someone. “We surrender!” Iroh bellowed. “I am with the Crown Prince of the Fire Nation, and he needs a doctor!”

Not wanting any part in this, Obito is dragged into it anyway when he's given a mission to find out who instigated the attack. Instead, he gets more than he bargained for when a certain Kumo-nin lies in wait on the other side of Kamui.
OR:
Due to extenuating circumstances, Kakashi grows up in Kumo and decides that this strange, masked ANBU skulking around his village would make for a fun distraction from his boredom.
