His heart pounded loudly, a thousand different emotions buzzing beneath his skin—every bone in his body was telling him to run away, to get help, to stay safe, but he was urged forward by the foolish hope tainting every aspect of his being. Scar listened to it, following the rhythmic thumping of love in his heart, but when he got close enough to see the figure, his heart stopped instead.
Red, red blood bled into every crevice, crimson liquid coating the earth in a sickly hue; it was most concentrated under the player, as they laid in a pool of their own blood. He took in the figure's face, one that he could never forget, no matter how many years it had been. There, crumpled on the ground, stained with blood, was his everything, his husband. Shakily, Scar whispered a name he thought he would never get to say again. “Gri-Grian…?”
