Summary
“I want you to meet my Maid of Honor,” Kanae beamed as she placed the pink haired woman beside her. “This is Kanroji Mitsuri and this is Iguro Obanai.” She gestured between the two of them. Obanai opened his mouth to speak, but Mitsuri beat him to it.
“We met already, actually, at the front door,” Her cheeks reddened as she spoke. Her blushing seemed to be a common reaction. It endeared her to him.
Obanai and Mitsuri meet and fall in love over the course of a year while helping their friends plan a wedding. Obanai slowly recovers from his childhood trauma so he can live a normal life.

“You’re not the first woman I’ve brewed this for. As women in the corps we can’t afford any mistakes. Most women leave the corps if they decide not to take it,” Shinobu explained. “It won’t affect your future fertility either.” Mitsuri brought the cup to her lips, unable to tip the cup ever so slightly to take the first sip.
Mitsuri should drink this. She should drink it and terminate it. She was unmarried, a Hashira, and her family would be shamed knowing their eldest daughter was a tramp. Except another image came to mind. A dark haired baby with two colored eyes and tears started pouring down her cheeks. He looked up at her in awe and she could not replace the image with anything else.
“I can’t do it,” she whispered. “I can’t do it.” Shinobu’s eyes widened as Mitsuri shook her head and set down the cup.

He glanced at the wooden frame around him. Obanai had lived here ever since he could remember.
“Like me?” He repeated quietly. She placed her hand under his chin, lifting his face to hers.
“Yes, a child who resembled her,” she said, her thumb brushing against his right temple.

Summary
Kanroji Mitsuri, a recent graduate of California College of the Arts, has just gotten her tattooing license and decides to move to Japan, where she was born before her parents immigrated overseas. Living on her own for the first time, in a country she’s only been to as a child, she struggles to take care of herself and achieve her goal of owning her own tattoo parlor in the homeland she always dreamed of returning to.
These haven't all been ordinary dreams, however, and the strange young man she meets when inquiring about a retail space for lease in the same building as his botanical shop only makes her more confused about what's real and what’s not.
What’s more: she has no idea that this man has always dreamt the same dreams—mainly of a disturbing alternate lifetime he’s never been able to make sense of.
Maybe they can help each other remember.
