Clicking in tongue in disdain, Kakuzu brashly and unthinkingly moved closer to Hidan’s face, fully looming over the panicking man. Kakuzu would have wrenched the younger's chin to force his glassy gaze to lock onto Kakuzu himself had his hands not been preoccupied. Instead, he settled on boring holes into his skull with his glare and consuming any available space so Hidan would have nowhere else to look.
“Your God is not here, Hidan,” Kakuzu spat out, anger mounting with each fearfully mumbled prayer. “Only me. Of the two of us, I know which will be getting us out of this mess and it certainly won’t be your Lord. So stop your hysterics for salvation when your deliverance won’t be coming from any unseen entity, but me instead.”

Or; Two times Kakuzu accidentally helped Hidan, two times Hidan purposefully helped Kakuzu and one time each it was reversed for both of them.

Summary
Sometimes, after a particularly gruesome ritual, Hidan was so out of it due to blood loss that he made even less sense than usual. The conversations he then had with Kakuzu sure were very, very strange - but also very amusing.
Established relationship with a bit of fluff.
