I understand your concern, but I don’t think we have anything to worry about here. As a hoax, or a prank, or dark satire or whatever, the video is pretty effective, and I can see why you’ve reacted so strongly. But I think it’s a mistake to take this thing at face value. Simply put - the idea that Howell would post it, if it were genuine, is nuts.

Even more strange is that he chose to buy a house with his business partner. This, Igor can't understand at all. One of the best things about having a family, in his humble opinion, is that the only work-related activity going on in his home is shit-talking his foreman to his wife. Who in their right mind would want to live with someone they work with?
So, the running theory in Igor's mind is that Dan is a co-founder of some kind of cult. It would explain the eclectic decorating choices as well, if the purpose is to confuse and disorient whoever steps foot in his house to make them more susceptible to being persuaded.
Or: an outsider pov from the perspective of a humble European gamer who is just trying to figure Dan out.

The bed they were sharing in the bus was just the result of a bargain, the cheapest rent bus they could find that would accommodate all the crew. It was by obligation that they got the bed, so as not to make anyone else uncomfortable, while everyone else slept not even two meters away from them, privacy depending on a single thin and clunky door that could be opened if someone pushed too hard, even when the lock was on. They slept together, but The Gap was there.
They were very mindful of The Gap.

Dan's back hit the floor, the air kicked out of his lungs by the force and the surprise of the tackle—leaving just enough for a chuckle to escape—and his arms loosely wrapped around Phil's body pinning him to the green, messy, carpeted floor.
He barely registered Phil's own laugh—because then, two lips promptly pressed against his, the contact wandering between shy and impulsive, both overthought and thoughtless.
Dan forgot everything from the still-filming camera pointed at them to the pair of underwear pressed against his back on the floor. He even forgot what to do for a few seconds.
