Summary
In the beautiful kingdom of Rosas, the citizens happily live their lives without a care in the world. Thanks to their wonderful and magical rulers; King Magnifico and Queen Amaya, together they created a place where everyone's wishes can come true.
Behind the castle doors, the two rulers have been taking control of people's wishes, choosing who really deserves happiness or misery. Feeding on the hopes and dreams of their citizens, quietly gaining power that soon becomes insufficient. Magnifico's true goal is to harness infinite power. To catch a star.
Not all the citizens are fooled, as a group quietly fled from Rosas into "The Uncharted Forest", but they could only hide for so long. Asha, a young woman of 18 who grows restless in the village and wants to venture back out into the world, but still has fear of Magnifico finding her family.
In an act of desperation, she wishes upon a star for a miracle. Her wish is granted, but not in the way she expected: A star comes down to Earth, taking the form of an excited, shape shifting, teenage boy. Together, the duo (and Valentino) travel to Rosas to restore the wishes to their rightful places. Star has no idea what he's doing....but he'll try. 😅

The Legend of Anastasia is a Pygmalion tale that discusses Russian history and the nuances, ups, and downs of Imperial and Soviet politics in the early 20th century. This is a musical re-write/movie adaptation script of Anastasia the Musical (Hartford production). With inspirations from the Broadway Musical, and the original 1952 French play Anastasia by Marcelle Maurette. I also took inspiration from different aspects of the Anastasia plays, films, ballets, and operetta, and the replica & non-replica productions of the stage musicals worldwide. This script is a pure love letter to Anastasia in fiction and structured like an Old Hollywood movie musical. Normal movie scripts don’t have this much description; this is how I’m visualizing it. I hope that you enjoy it.
