"Halloween's in a week, what are you going as?" Santos asks as she pulls up the hub, bumping her shoulder against Mel's. "Mel-ificent? A m-elf?"
"I don't know yet," Mel says as she swipes down, refreshing in hopes of promised lab results that probably should've been done hours ago.
"You? Miss, I have to finish embroidering my maid outfit by Saturday."
"French milkmaid outfit, and I was going to the Faire on Labor Day. It was a tight schedule considering Becca didn't want to go with me this year," Mel whispers petulantly. "I might just re-wear it this year."
Santos licks her lip at the image: Mel's taut arms, rolled-up sleeves, a fancy kerchief tied around her neck, and hair loose with waves. Okay, calm down, no trad-wife-ing whatever right now, she's not a damn larper. Though maybe she should take Garcia up on that offer to go to that gay club for Halloween. Maybe.
