Summary
“Wait, Mr. Raiders fan,” Rozanov calls.
Constable Sullivan pauses.
“I get a phone call, yes?”
“Sure.” He pulls out his own phone. “Do you know the number?”
Rozanov nods. The numbers all come out in a rush, as though he’s memorized it in one long string and can’t think of any of them separately.
It’s a Montreal area code, the constable notes, as he types it in. As the phone rings, he puts it on speaker and asks Rozanov: “Who is it?”
“Shane Hollander.”
“Fuck off. Who is it really?”
Or: in the midst of the Rose breakup, the Raiders win a game in Montreal. Unable to do what he normally does after Montreal games, Ilya goes out to a club, gets super drunk, and ends up getting picked up by Montreal police for public intoxication. Sitting in a holding cell, the only number he can remember is Shane's.

“Ilya, what are we gonna do?” Shane says.
Ilya finishes whatever he has been doing on his phone, and tosses it gently to the bed beside him. He crosses the room to Shane, stands in front of him, squeezes into his shoulders with his big hands, rubbing them like he means to warm them up.
“Looks like we will have a little vacation,” he says, with a big obnoxious grin.
Boston and Montreal are sent to Paris to play against each other in an exhibition series in January 2017. Ilya and Shane decide to stay in Paris for one more night. Just one more night, so they can talk. Maybe finally understand each other.
They aren't expecting a volcano to erupt in Iceland and close all the airspace in Europe, leaving them stranded there. Together.

Summary
Two negatives make a positive.
Ilya wasn’t sure what six positives made… Other than Shane Hollander throw up in his specially imported Japanese toilet.
In all honesty, Ilya was tempted to join him right now. All those plus signs and double lines were about as damning as anything really could be, but even still he couldn’t fully let himself believe the reality of the situation just yet. This was not the kind of fuck-up someone like him ought to make. Ilya was promiscuous, sure, but he certainly wasn’t a fucking idiot. He knew better than this, he was better than this. At least, with other people he was- and the only difference between other people and Hollander was that he was Shane fucking Hollander and Shane Hollander was...
Shane Hollander was perfect. A perfect player, a perfect person, a perfect example of someone that should not be dealing with this right now.

Except Shane accidentally, drunkenly, outs himself to the Montreal Metros at the end of the season. Who are not as okay with it as Shane would have hoped.
