The memory comes flooding back in technicolor as Jay sits in the drivers seat of that godforsaken RV.
"So what do we do now?"
From the back of the RV, Jared mumbles.Jay stares blankly a few more beats before reaching into his pocket to pull out a swiss army knife. In silence, he gouges another deep slice into the wood of the dashboard. Jared zooms in to the knotches, a couple dozen neat little tally marks etched into the RV.

Matt was in a perfectly fine mood until they started watching that stupid movie, maybe he ended up hating it as much as Jay did after all, and was mad at himself for spending his whole Halloween night watching it over and over again. They were supposed to watch Beetlejuice. No wonder he was acting out. "
