“Yes, that.” he hummed, “Was all nonsense. You’re good at what you do.”
Shane smiles, then. “I’m glad you think so.”
“Not as good as me, obviously.” Ilya added, and Shane rolled his eyes. “Can’t be too nice to you, can I?”
“Guess not.”

Regulus Black couldn't leave home with his brother, he watched him flourish on the outside while he was stuck. University was his only chance to get away from home but he's still under their watch, transitioning against their will and searching for a way out all while maintaining perfect grades and stalking his brothers successful career without reaching out. His friends are his new family, Sirius doesn't even know his favourite colour anymore so why bother to speak to him again? Especially when he might not even like Regulus anymore, and he has his own new family.
OR
Regulus and Sirius have communication issues and trauma and process it in vastly different ways but learn to love each other again.
