The ground around him gradually became covered by opened envelopes and matching sheets of paper; Spain barely noticed, all the words bleeding into one great big smudge of ‘Spagna, Spagna, Spagna’ in Romano’s messy handwriting."
Spain helps Romano move into his house, unearthing more than just memories in the process.

Romano struggles with the feelings of guilt and religious trauma that have plagued him for centuries. Spain shows him that even in damnation there is always love.

Már hetek óta így nézett ki szinte minden este számukra, Márk mégis egyre rosszabbul viselte a kialakult helyzetet. Egyre kevésbé tudta megfékezni vándorló tekintetét és gondolatait, egyre kevésbé tudta figyelmen kívül hagyni a kést, ami a bordái közé költözött, és egyre kevésbé tudott uralkodni magán. Nem mindig érezte már magát embernek, és még annál is kevésbé olyannak, akinek lehet beleszólása a saját életébe. Mégis, akárhányszor a csillagok alatt ültek este, fáradtan, térdeik összeérve az asztal alatt, akkor úgy érezte, talán nem baj. Talán Péter kedvéért hajlandó lenne bármilyen és bárki lenni.
