Christine can’t sleep without wondering if reality is fake. Emily cries in gas station bathrooms. Cathy’s trying desperately to hold the group together. Nicky stays high enough not to think too hard about any of it.
And Felix acts like he’s fine.
Packed into a stolen van with nowhere to go, the five of them drift across the country in a haze of motel rooms, cigarettes, cheap alcohol, and ugly late-night arguments. But when Christine and Felix get trapped in each other’s orbit, hatred starts blurring into something far more dangerous — messy, obsessive intimacy between two people who only feel real when they’re touching each other. Felix kisses her like he’s trying to start a fire. Christine kisses him back like she wants the whole fucking world to burn.
Around them, Nicky, Emily and Cathy are still surviving, figuring things out for themselves.

Ragatha had no idea what Archive of Our Own was.
This was, arguably, not her fault.
Having joined the Circus in 2008 and missed the next decade and a half of internet culture entirely, she was still learning things most people took for granted. Smartphones. Streaming services. Memes.
Apparently fanfiction websites belonged on that list too.
Which was how she found herself sitting cross-legged on Robin's couch, laptop balanced precariously in her lap, staring at a white-and-red website with fascination.
