Summary
“Good morning.” Clark smiles and reaches out, running his fingers through the silky strands of Bruce’s hair and gently smoothing it into place. The fact that it’s more disheveled than usual this morning is, after all, Clark’s fault. He flushes as he thinks back on the events of the previous night, absently biting his lower lip as he curls a lock of Bruce’s hair around his finger.
(This fic is a part of the "Dream a Little Dream (of me)" series, and does take place immediately after When You Sleep (your dream world is as real to you as life) but it can be read as a standalone fic. Knowledge of "When You Sleep (your dream world is as real to you as life)" isn't necessary here, but there are some spoilers of events that happen in that fic, so be aware of that.)

Tomorrow will be Rumi's first birthday since the three of them officially became this generation’s Hunters, but it wasn’t something she was used to having any kind of huge celebration for and they hadn’t exactly made plans. So she shouldn't expect anything, right? After all, they had more important things to worry about.

Recently, Neuvillette found he was having more difficulty than usual wrangling some of his more…draconic impulses. When he’d struggled in the past, he’d found that removing himself from the vicinity of whatever seemed to trigger these instinctual urges would allow him to regain control and life would move on as normal. He can't exactly distance himself from Wriothesley, and he doesn't want to, but he's got it covered. Truly. Neuvillette can refrain from giving in to his desires. Right?

“Uh…Bruce?” Dick tried again. “Come on, we have to go.”
“It is their right, it is their duty to throw off such Government and provide new Guards for their future security.” Bruce had turned to face Dick, reciting the last part from memory. “Do you know what that means?”
Dick crossed his arms, shifting his weight onto one foot. “I know you want to tell me what it means.” He echoed back.
“When something’s wrong, people who have the ability to take action, have the responsibility to take action.”
Dick straightened up, immediately alert. Bruce had said the same thing, almost to the word, the day he had adopted Dick.
He let out a long sigh before crossing back towards Bruce. “Look,” he started soothingly. “I know you probably feel obligated to stop this somehow. But we alerted every proper authority we could. It doesn’t feel like much but—”
“I’m gonna steal it.”
Dick choked off the end of his sentence. “What?”
“I’m going to steal the Declaration of Independence.”
