Summary
Prompt fill for Day Three of Spamano Week 2026: catholic guilt.
“Even if God himself descended tomorrow and condemned me to Hell for the sin of loving you, I wouldn't change a single second of it." He kissed Romano again, swallowed the little whimpers that broke free from Romano's chest and pressed him back into the pillows.
“If He gave me the choice to Ascend on the condition of never loving you, I would throw myself in just to hold you in my arms for a second longer."
Romano struggles with the feelings of guilt and religious trauma that have plagued him for centuries. Spain shows him that even in damnation there is always love.

Summary

The shadow snorts and shifts, like it is moving weight from foot to foot, and Spain stares resolutely forward, watching desperately from the very corners of his periphery. “I’m talking to you, aren’t I?” it asks, as if that means it’s real, as if that must mean Spain hasn’t lost himself completely to grief and anger and something irreparably, irrevocably broken within him.
In the aftermath of the unification of Italy, Spain finds himself being haunted. He also finds that he doesn’t mind.

Summary
Initially fought between Sicilian rebels and Charles of Anjou in Sicily and Southern Italy, the War of the Sicilian Vespers expanded when Aragon intervened in Sicily to support the rebels and claim the throne. The war ended in 1302 in the Peace of Caltabellotta, by which Sicily became an independent kingdom ruled by the House of Barcelona.
Thus began the 500 year reign of Spain’s dominion over Southern Italy.

Summary
Lovino catches that look and squawks indignantly. “Oh no,” he says, shoving Antonio down into his captain’s chair and gripping his chin, forcing his head back, “you will not blame me because you are a glutton.”
Antonio spreads his legs wider, pulling Lovino into the space between them, hands settling sweetly at the curve of Lovino’s thighs. “I don’t blame you, mi joya. But you look so nice in my gold, and I did promise you the world…” His thumbs trace small circles up the backs of Lovino’s thighs, tone teasing, and Lovino feels his face burn.
(Or, Lovino bandages up an injured Antonio before riding him silly.)

It’s only right, Antonio thinks, that this miracle be worshipped properly.

Summary
The words are stolen from Feliciano’s lips in a terrific rush of joy, his mouth dropping and tears welling up in his eyes as he comes face to face with the brother he’s spent the past four years of his life searching for. There aren’t words in any language he knows that truly express how thankful he is to see him, knowing that all of his effort wasn’t in vain because Lovino is here and he’s alive--!
Lovino, however, doesn’t seem to share the sentiment.
After being rescued from a crew of corsairs, Feliciano is shocked to discover his missing brother is a member of infamous pirate Captain Fernández's crew -- and while they promise to take him back home to his grandfather, he has a lot of things to learn about Lovino before he makes it back to Genoa.
