“Sorry,” the Commander responded and Natasha could almost see her running her hands through her short hair in frustration, “I’ll see you soon yeah?”
“Yep, tell Ellie I said hi,” she nodded to herself.
“Will do, night Tasha.”
“Night Ria,” Natasha responded back and hung up the phone. Leaving her back in the silence of their new home.

Summary
Taking the window as an escape route isn’t the most ideal option when one is seven flights up. Not unless there’s a local birdman outside providing aerial support. Then that changes everything. Then the window is the only sensible option.
And also the funniest, in terms of raising Phil’s blood pressure.

There’s the voice, Phil thinks faintly. So that’s the cause of the screaming, although he already had a hunch this is what was happening. Some unlucky bastard held down to be used as an unwilling offering, a dagger dug straight into the heart. Or- near the heart. He’s dying too slowly for it to be a good stabbing placement.
