Summary
Shouto stays like that, on his side, watching the shadow that is Midoriya’s body, for so long he loses track of time. He times his breathing with Midoriya’s—inhale, exhale, inhale, exhale—letting the rhythm soothe his nerves and calm the beating of his heart. He falls into a sort of stupor that is almost sleep but not quite, alert enough to notice if something’s wrong but lulled into the false sense of safety one can only find when unconscious.

Summary
Dazai eventually slid his palm out from underneath Chuuya. “You sure are slimey, Slug,” he commented while staring at his numb, sweaty hand. Then he unexpectedly felt two arms wrap around his waist.
“Uh, Chuuya? Is this some weird perverted trap?” Dazai asked.
“HOLY SHIT! WAS THAT ME OR ARAHABAKI? FUCK! WHATDOIEVENDONOW?” Chuuya’s mind raced.

Summary
Whatever existed between Chuuya and Dazai—whether it was love, or hate, or something else entirely—died in the dark of the mafia. It was left behind to wilt and rot, and now, there’s nothing left. Chuuya might have loved Dazai once, but those days have long since passed, and they know Burnett’s ability didn’t latch on to any sort of lingering affection there.
Besides, if Dazai were the subject, Chuuya’s feelings wouldn’t be unresolved or unstated anyway. Dazai knows exactly how Chuuya felt; he just wasn’t capable of feeling the same.
Which leads to the real problem—
The guy Chuuya actually needs to confess to can’t fucking reciprocate their feelings either.
chuuya gets hit with an ability that gives them hanahaki. this might be easier to deal with if it didn't require confessing to someone who: 1. will know what's up as soon as he looks at them, and 2. cannot love them back
