The little slime beneath Enji's shirt trembled, pressing icy against his ribs as the criminal crouched, his breath sour with rot. “Pathetic,” the man sneered, dragging Enji up by the throat until his boots barely scraped the floor. Enji choked, brows twisting as his vision swam. “If only people could see you now, Number One.” He shook the hero like a ragdoll, grinning at the pained gasp it wrenched out of him. “You know what the game's objective is?" he chuckled, a thick, dry sound. "To 'Defeat the villain Endeavor before the kingdom is destroyed'..." A smile, wide and yellow. "So, I guess if I kill you, I 'win', huh?”
He dropped Endeavor in a heap, watching the Number One cough and claw at his bruised throat.
The villain knelt beside him, "There, there," patting the hero's back like Enji was some pitiful drunk on the street. "I can't have you dying on me... I like it here." He chuckled again. "So, let's keep you safe, hmm?"
When Endeavor goes missing, Hawks falls into a quirk's game-based world in pursuit. But what he finds isn't something he'd anticipated. He never thought he'd see his hero... like this.
