It's not that there's something strange that Giorno is doing; just because there are many things about him that just don't make sense. They simply don't add up, and could only be explained by some sort of invisible phenomena. Which is why, Abbacchio considers, that Giorno could be a vampire.

A young woman – probably 18 or so – stands a couple of meters away from Jotaro. She has the same red hair, a similar curl coming to rest at the side of her face. She has the same thin brows, furrowing in suspicion and confusion. She has one of his earrings, the red bead shining brightly from where it rests near her throat.
Jotaro’s breath catches. The woman’s eyes narrow slightly. Just like Kakyoin.
“Who are you?”

Abbacchio sits there wide-eyed and stunned, and when he doesn’t respond, Giorno keeps going. He pulls something from his pajama pocket and when he places it on the table between the two, Abbacchio can only feel his horror grow as he sees it’s a carved wooden stake.

Upon the knowledge of his vampiric genes kicking in after a sudden transformation, Giorno is sent into a spiral as he scrambles between acceptance and grief. While some prove more helpful than others, the team does what they can to help him through this change, ease the burden, and let him know his family is still here.
