When Childe stays silent, the sinking feeling in her stomach only worsens. In an attempt to keep her anxiety at bay, Zhongli crosses her arms over her stomach, unaware of the way the action presses her breasts together. Childe’s eyes snap down at the motion, only to return to her face right after.
Childe hastily shoves his hands into the pockets of his swim shorts. “Yeah, you could say that,” he replies, a strange smile plastered on his face.

I’ve heard of raving reviews regarding this book, but I’ve never really come around to reading it until this afternoon. Needless to say, I am now crying my eyes out and writing this review with sixteen wet tissues stuck to my keyboard. You’re welcome.
Whoever told me this wasn’t a romance book was a goddamn liar. This entire thing is a love confession. The whole Liyue arc was a goddamn love confession. Holy shit. Was it really supposed to be a historical book? I kept trying to read and re-read it again, but nope, all I saw was two really gay, constipated people who just kept jumping around each other and - when they finally got the chance to confess!!!! - got screwed over by the universe.
In which Childe releases a memoir and what entails on it takes the internet by storm.

Summary
If Zhongli doesn’t care about him even after all the time they’ve spent together, then he must not care if Childe kills off a good portion of his people. After all, the only reason why he’d held back on committing murder in Liyue was because he had been in unfamiliar territory.
But now that he knows Zhongli is Rex Lapis… well. His face contorts into an ugly, vengeful sneer, and he flexes his fingers to summon a Hydro blade. He’ll see whether the Geo Archon is worth his salt after losing his Gnosis in such a pitiful way. He will force Zhongli’s hand, even if Childe has to kill three-quarters of his beloved citizens to get his attention.
Ultimately, Childe had sworn to himself that Zhongli would be his in the end. One way or another.

Zhongli tapped his pen against the pitiful attempt of a letter.
Of all his talents, prostrating himself was not one.‘Excuse me, Lady of Cryo, I temporarily lost my mind to erosion and utterly wrecked your harbinger’s sphincter’ came and went through his mind in Childe’s voice. The look on Childe’s conversation partner’s face screams that this is, in fact, not supposed to be an easy question.
An amnesic Childe is recruited by Rex Lapis to judge a different pair of criminals each day and decide their fates. The catch? One criminal will always be sent to their death and the other will be sent to the outside world scot-free. This is unchangeable.
It's an easy enough job.
So what happens when the cases become greyer in morality with each day and memories that include Rex Lapis begin to come back to Childe? And why is it that the faint inkling he has that Rex Lapis is fully aware of how Childe's memory disappeared is becoming less and less faint?
