I clearly remember my first soup. It was a mud soup, filled with grass, leaves, flowers, fruit, seeds, several kinds of dirt and sand, and even bugs, so that it would be appetizing for any animal in the gardens, from birds, to mice to worms.
I cannot remember what soup was served on the night he announced his intention to marry me.
