Summary
Remus sizes him up briefly, deems him uninteresting, and fixes his stare on the dirt beneath his boots, waiting for Fletch to call it. The man, his opponent, is just another body. Just another body to be broken, to be thrown to the dirt. Just like Remus, but unluckier, maybe. It remains to be seen, he supposes.
His blood is hot and quick in his veins, the throbbing in his knuckles and the ache in his jaw an unwelcome reminder of how real he is. How tangible of a thing he is, the animal reality of his body. Fragile.
Breathe in.
Breathe out.
He’s going to win.

You can never be too careful with pipe-dreams, paper-thin and frail as gold leaf, twice as bright and infinitely more precious.
“We’ll have it all. A porch swing, and a pond. And Sirius will build things, and Remus will write, and I’ll cook. And you can do whatever you please, my darling.”
Regulus is still, face still buried in James. It takes him a long moment to respond.
“I think… I think I’ll play piano.”
James smiles.

Summary
Barty’s apartment was old, older than most of the others on the block, with water-stained walls and black mould in the corners, strange red stains on the carpet and cracked windows that let in the chill breeze from the alley outside— reeking, like rotting garbage and gravel and dirty rain. It worked for Barty, though, because nobody knew he was here, and no one would ever find out.
He rarely left, spending most of his days asleep on the bare mattress on the floor, and most of his nights hunched over the glow of his laptop. Watching Evan.Alternatively titled:

Summary
Portland (OR), 1971.
They could have been driving for days, or mere seconds, the road a black wound on the earth, slipping fast and blurry beneath them. It was an endless repeating scene of fields and grain silos, rusted sheds and vacant, soulless land— the same stretch of film, looped over and over again.
Remus felt light, lighter than air, stuck floating in his own bloodstream. It was like his soul wasn’t quite tethered to the earth but for his fingertips, where Sirius’s warmth seeped through his jacket into Remus’s hands.
He squeezed his eyes shut, the roaring of the bike and the wind in his ears so impossibly loud that for a moment he worried he’d never hear again. Maybe he never would. Maybe this was it: one last endless dream. Maybe they’d ride and ride and ride and never arrive anywhere at all. Maybe there was nowhere left to go.OR:
Remus Lupin doesn't know much, but he knows the American dream is just that. A dream.
It's harder to believe it, though, when Sirius Black is looking at him.
It's 1971, and Remus is Awake.

Do you want to have a nifty way to have multiple languages in a fic:
- Without making your readers scroll to the AN for a translation?
- Without the text and translation sitting side by side?
- And still make it look pretty when people download it into an EPUB or PDF format?
- Making it work with screenreaders? (Subject to varying screenreader capabilities)
Here is a solution for you. Come on babygirls, let's roll.
(This is a HTML tutorial but I'm lowkey flirting with you by calling you babygirl occasionally because I got bored while writing this.)
NEW UPDATE [20/3/2026]:
- Chapter 1: Sample Usage (Excerpt from a WIP in my drafts)
- A short character study about Griffin Harley from Babel (by R.F. Kuang). Utilizies 3 languages in multiple formats. You don't need to have read Babel to pick apart the code used.
- Chapter 2: Basic Tutorial (same as before)
- Chapter 3: FAQ (regarding customization and usage)

Summary
“If you could go anywhere in the universe right now, where would you go?”
Remus chews the inside of his cheek as he considers. He glances sideways at Sirius again. Reclined in the passenger seat with his feet kicked up on the dashboard, tapping the beat to the music, Sirius looks completely at home.
Here, probably, he thinks.
UK, 1977. Remus had a plan. He was going to take an idyllic road trip across America with his best friend. He was going to write something that mattered. He wasn't going to be what his dad wanted him to be.
Getting bitten by a zombie dog wasn't part of his plan.
Now, Remus is parentless, homeless, and searching for his friend on the off-chance he’s still out there. But as it happens, the universe has a plan for him, and it involves hitching a ride with a trio of posh boys who like to plunder fallen towns...and maybe saving humanity in the process.
It’s the zombie fucking apocalypse and Remus Lupin is still alive.
(A tale of resistance, found family, and what it means to be human.)
