Arthur Morgan followed his own advice and left the gang when he had a child (the canonical Eliza and Isaac), taking up as a bounty hunter. Along the way he picked up a young John Marston, who thus never runs with Dutch. Despite leaving, Arthur never truly left his connections behind him, and when Dutch asked for help, he always answered. In 1899, during the event of the game, this arrangement might eventually force Arthur to choose to whom he truly owes his loyalty.
John sneered. "You think I'd protect Dutch Van der Linde? Believe me, if I knew where he was, I'd tell you. Hell, I'd go get him myself. He's worth 10 large right now."
Milton sneered right back. "I am not a fool, Mister Marston, kindly do not treat me as one. You would do nothing without Arthur Morgan's say-so, and that will be what puts you on the gallows right beside him."

One last smile, and it was the first true smile Stiles had seen on that face - fondness, warmth, humor, a depth of emotion Stiles could fathom seeing on that face. Peter's eyes, glowing wolf red - an alpha again, an alpha of ash-killed land and constant winter, and severed bonds - warmed. "It's always been you, sweetheart."
Too many messages in those stilted words. Too much left unsaid. Too much left undone.
"Find me, when you go back. Its the only thing I ask."
"I can't leave you."
"Yes, you can. There's nothing here to leave, sweetheart."
Cracking branches, the thud of roughshod feet running their way. Their brief respite was over. They were the last, and Peter was sacrificing himself so Stiles could escape. Fuck.

I started writing this about eight years ago. It's changed so much over the years, been resurrected and reimagined, then forgotten and brought back to life so many times, it's practically it's own novel. It's finished, it's long af, and it's sappy and emotionally rewarding if you like Steter. In my heart of hearts, I wrote this for Harrison. I love you, babe. Getting up to close the window meant moving, and he wasn't moving. He refused to move because he hated life, and himself, and everything, but especially that motherfucking window. A surge of anger and frustration welled inside him as he remembered Derek’s smiling face coming through that stupid fucking window. Everything reminded him of Derek. This was his life: hating himself, hating Derek, and smelling like ass.
“Fuck!” Stiles cursed again as he jumped out of bed and reached out, intending to slam the window shut when the sound of someone clearing their throat stopped him dead in his tracks.
“Touch the window and I’ll set this place on fire just to get rid of the smell,” Peter’s smooth, self satisfied voice threatened.

Stiles is in his mid30s and is a powerful Spark who has been the Emissary for the Hale McCall pack for over a decade. He's watched as all of his pack members, including his husband Derek, died, one by one.
So he does what any reasonable person would do: discovers time travel.
The story starts the night that he busts through time and appears in the bedroom of his teenage self. He's determined to help his younger self master magic, coach Derek about how to be a good Alpha, and most importantly, make sure that nobody dies.
The story involves 2 Stiles. The older one, in his original timeline had been married to Derek. In the new timeline, he's in a relationship with Peter, who is roughly his age. The Sterek here is slowburn bc younger Stiles is still in high school.
The pack tries whole-heartedly to be wholesome and domestic and normal, even though none of them are particularly good at it.
