Summary
Hitoshi transferred to Aldera Middle School at the beginning of his second year after an incident at his previous school. He knows better than to hope that this school is better. His transfer doesn't mean anything.
Izuku doesn't think much of the new transfer student. It's not like he's going to be different than any of his classmates. He knows better than to wish for a friend. The other won't want anything to do with him.
This transfer means nothing to either of them. Nothing is going to happen. Nothing is going to come out of this. It's nothing special after all.

Shouta is happy to hear it; it really is great news, but… His eyes linger on Midoriya. He’s been stuck here for a year. A year. And it could be many more. For all he knows, the kid’s in a vegetative state, and won’t ever wake up.

Summary
Izuku had a soulmark before. Explosions across his collarbone, bright and loud, a neon sign that screamed for all the world to hear exactly who his soulmate was.
It disappears in his final year of middle school. Izuku asks the universe to take it away after his last straw is taken in Kacchan’s hands and snapped in half, and he isn’t granted a second one. Not that he minds all that much- no, no one is better than Kacchan was, and Izuku thinks he can settle for finding love one day without the help of some fancy mark on his skin.
Hitoshi never had a soulmark before. He grew up without one and got bullied for it. After all, he was the villain kid, so despicable with such an evil quirk that even the universe agreed he wasn’t worthy of love. He grew to accept it slowly, eventually coming to terms with the fact that he’d have to find someone on his own even if the odds were stacked against him.
Both of them are surprised one night to see a splotch of color on their hands, a thin matching thread that begins to grow as the days go by.
Thankfully, neither are disappointed.

Izuku Midoriya has to get out of Japan for a while. He just found out his longtime boyfriend, has been cheating on him and Christmas is around the corner. What's a top Spotlight hero to do when the holiday that's all about couples and love looms on the horizon? Flee to America and spend the holiday with his dad of course.
Shouta Aizawa is so BORED! He's a prohero for goodness' sake. He's supposed to be out saving people and busting the bad guys; not sitting here on his duff waiting for his leg to be healed. His prosthesis was working just fine, thank you very much. If Nedzu says otherwise, he's a lying liar who lies. Now he's stuck in this hospital in America, waiting for the one quirk treatment that can regrow his missing limb, just because the Rat decided to pull some strings and even offered the director, Hisashi Midoriya, a favor. He's been here For-e-ver, and he's bored.
Hisashi loves his son, he really does, but if Izuku moves the salt one more time in his cleaning frenzy Hisashi's going to lose his mind!
