Summary
Violet Sully was supposed to join her older brother on Pandora before a man with a gun killed him over paper. Instead of Tommy joining her, Jake does. Both her and her brother have the honor of being Avatar drivers in order to try and build a relationship with the Na'vi on Pandora. They both quickly fall in love with the life and people on the planet, choosing to protect it and turn their backs on the sky people. After driving out the humans, save for a select few chosen to stay, Violet and Jake both become fully one of the people.
Now, years later, the sky people have returned to Pandora, hellbent on revenge and colonizing the planet for human life. Jake is terrified for his family and flees with across the see to see refuge amongst the reef people. Little do the Sully's know, a certain two leaders have their sights set on one of their own.

They intend to lure her in, ensnare her, and kill or harm her. Again, would that not be relief? The dreaded 4th path is the most unlikely: finding purpose and vitality in a life of misery.
