Summary
Elliot knows now that he’s a complete idiot when it comes to telling a woman you like that, well, you like her.
Kathy told him she’d be happy to let him “get it out of his system” if it meant he’d still come home at night and stop being so moody and miserable all the time. The sign here was that he considered this for a second or two, before they had the biggest fight of their lives and he run out of their home, with an ultimatum from his wife to either “figure it out” or not come back.
TLDR: Elliot figures it out.

Ripley nods. “Yeah... I thought maybe, a family man like you, you can set him straight, you know? There’s more important things, he’s got kids, he’s got a wife- I mean-“
Elliot clears his throat and shifts on his feet “Don’t worry, I gotcha.” He does get it and normally he’d let the guy know just how much it pisses him off but-
“It’s just—he won’t focus on his own damn recovery." The man scrubs a hand over his face. "Keeps saying Rusty’s the one who got a raw deal. Like he didn’t take three bullets."
Elliot’s chest burns. Priorities. Always someone else’s pain first.
"What room’s he in?"
Or
Elliot Stabler doesn’t go to therapy - but he gets a dog. The dog loves Olivia the most, and so does Elliot.
