Or, a tender, bittersweet moment as Shunsui holds Jushiro and offers him a chance to be less optimistic than he shows the world, a chance to fall apart just a little, without judgment. He thinks back on other times they’ve had this same conversation over the years, and all the things he should’ve said differently. He still doesn’t find a way to help as much as he’d like.

True, he hadn’t actually checked whether the temperature had been below freezing, but cold was cold, right?
