All his life, Castiel had been referred to as ‘The Halfbreed’. All his life, Castiel had been beaten, clawed, mocked and treated unfairly. All his life, Castiel has been known as the offspring of an omega wolf and a very human man.
No one dared offer him a chance at anything: friendship, happiness and even love- hiding him like a stain in the Milton Wolf Pack. Then again, he was, wasn’t he?
The annual mating event had all omega wolves hyped. Handsome and gorgeous unmated alphas from three massive packs would be visiting Milton lands in search of a mate. These packs are: The Winchester Pack; The Morningstar Pack and The Bradbury Pack.
Of course, no halfbreed omegas were invited. Now at 35 years, all he could do was watch and allow the walls around his heart to grow taller and stronger.

Summary
“Just so we’re clear,” Sam says once they’re about halfway back to the road, “you don’t think Cas is in heaven and that’s the only reason you haven’t let yourself die yet?”
“Well,” Dean makes a noise halfway between a laugh and a sob. He stops walking but doesn’t look back at Sam. “That’s a lot more succinct than I’d have put it. I just–I know what’s on the other side, and it ain’t him.”
Sam steps in front of Dean, forcing eye contact. “I’m sorry you didn’t get more time with him.”
And then he turns and keeps up the hike. After that, it’s a long time before Dean lets himself be alone with just Sam.
OR
Chuck's been defeated. Jack is gone. Cas is dead. Sam is ready to build a new life but Dean's grief threatens to consume him entirely. Sam, Eileen, and even Claire all want to help Dean through this darkness, but they worry it's only a matter of time before Dean can't keep fighting it anymore.
Dean’s loved ones watch as he monumentally self-destructs while grieving his angel. There will be eventual happiness.

Summary
It’s been several months since the events of 15x19, and the world is at ease. Dean Winchester isn’t, though.
It takes a drunken night and a conversation with Sam for the Winchesters and a newly depowered Jack to start working on a way to get to the Empty to bring back Castiel, their angel best friend. After several weeks, the team enlist the assistance of the new Queen of Hell and find a spell. With Rowena’s help, Cas is finally back, alive, and for a moment everything looks brighter. Jack and Sam are ecstatic, and Dean’s had enough time to figure out what he wants to tell Cas. He’s ready to speak his truth.
Except, Cas doesn’t seem to recognize Jack, and the first thing he does is ask Dean how he’s managed to get rid of the mark. He doesn’t remember that Chuck, the flimsy prophet he met years ago, was God and that they just beat his ass. Actually, there’s a lot he doesn’t remember… Including telling Dean he loved him before getting taken by the Empty.
Now starts a different quest- figuring out what’s keeping a newly human Cas from remembering the past 5 years by their side, and helping him regain the memories he’s lost.
Of course, as is custom for Winchesters, nothing goes as planned.

There is a ring on Cas’ finger with a shining white surface, and he is holding a tall black scythe.“Cas?” Dean says again, with more fear this time. He can’t. He can’t do this. He can’t.
Chuck is staring at Cas too. They all are. Chuck’s eyes actually pop, nearly bulging, the surprise in his face tinged with something like rage.
“You!” he snaps. “You’re not even in this story, your part is long over. Why aren’t you dead? This isn’t even about you, it never was! Why, in my own damn name, aren’t you dead?”
Cas takes two steps forward.
“Good question,” he says, his voice all gravel, and swings Death’s scythe down in one long arc, lopping off Chuck’s head.

Summary
After Castiel was rescued from the Empty, he wasn’t sure what the next chapter in his life held. But when Amara brings a young Jack to the Bunker for Castiel to raise, everything clicks into place.
Castiel had once found his purpose in being a father. With Jack back with him, it all made sense. Jack gave Castiel’s aimless soul a direction.
Direction, which led him to their farm.

Dean thinks he gets it, wanting to show Jack something other than hunting. Something wholesome, nurturing, and loving. Dean knows better than anyone what growing up around monsters can do to a kid.
So once he realizes he’s done with the hunt, ready to let it all go to be with Cas and Jack—to watch Jack grow up in a house (hopefully) full of life, with Cas by his side—he hopes with everything in him that Cas wants it, too.- Language:

Chuck is gone and the world is back in order. For once there’s no big bad and this little makeshift family can focus on trying to start the rest of their lives.
With Cas back from the empty, Dean now has to face his feelings on the angel and an 'i love you' he doesn't know what to do with. In true Dean fashion, he deals with his feelings on the matter by absolutely not dealing with them at all. How long can this really last, though, when everyone knows Dean Winchester is just as much in love with Castiel as Cas is with him.

Cas knows that would be a perfect time to confess to Dean what exactly happened and what he was thinking. Maybe, Dean had some insight into the situation or even some kind of comfort to offer. But, the longer that he sat there, he realized that he could not tell Dean absolutely anything. So instead, for the first time, Cas fumbled.
“Um,” Cas mutters and abruptly stands. “Freckles?”
Dean blinked up at him as Cas pivoted and left the room. There was only one remaining option he had and unfortunately, it involved Sam.
