Each feather is a gradient, starting blond near the base and fading into white along its length. “Wings are very good. When I woke up and saw them the first time I was a bit confused, but then very happy. It’s a sign that I’m here for the right reasons, even if space is scary.”

It wasn’t anything that Grace had never done before. Yet this time, Rocky felt all five of his hearts racing at its smile. Grace’s giggle was so similar to an Eridian’s. Rocky wanted to make it laugh again, to be the reason for its joy.
Such thoughts had barely begun when there was suddenly a strange physical feeling inside Rocky. It felt like something was moving, a strange buzz reverberating throughout his body. It was deeply uncomfortable and continued to increase in intensity until Rocky suddenly felt like he had to open his ventral seal right now and get something out out out. It was all so quick that Rocky could barely think about how absolutely wrong it felt.

One day you are young, playing in the rain with a smile etched onto your face. The next day you are old, graduating college and stressing about bills and student loans.
Then in the next, you are young again, too young and too scared as you are told that you are going to be sent on a suicide mission to save your planet- and in the next heartbeat you are old again, walking with a cane and greying around the edges.
In the blink of an eye you realize that you only thought you were old back when you were young because you were naive, you thought you knew all the world had to offer. But now you know the truth, because now you are actually old and you know you could never even begin to imagine to know all twists and turns of the universe.
Then, inexplicably, you are so so so very young again.
And isn't that a shock for Ryland Grace to wake up to.

He struggles with language barriers, culture shock, and worst of all: he never really recovered all of his memories from his first time on earth.
