Leo is touring. Donnie is back at his programme. Mikey is halfway through his second year of college.
Raphael finds himself with something he's never been particularly good at:
Time.
So he spends it wandering the Hidden City, stumbling into old cafés, arena nights, neighbourhood festivals and the lives of people he'd never met before.
Somewhere between fresh bread, warm tea and a square full of familiar faces, he discovers that community isn't something you inherit.
Sometimes, it's something that quietly chooses you.

Summary

So when his brothers move on without him, chasing their futures, the lair grows emptier and the days blur together. Raphael slowly disappears into the space he was never meant to fill alone.
It takes an outsider to realize what the family has overlooked.

ORR this idea won’t get outta my damn head so I have to write it out. The brothers leave for something in the hidden city - be it a career or education. But Raph stays behind, failing to realise how much their absence will affect him.

Raph’s always been the strongest - until he wasn’t. For nearly a year, he’s been hiding strange pain, bone-deep fatigue, and unexplained weakness, chalking it up to stress, patrols, or just getting soft. When Leo finally returns and the team begins to rebuild, everything crashes. Hard.
It’s Donnie who pieces it together, who watches his brother unravel molecule by molecule until he can’t ignore the truth any longer: Raph is sick. Chronically. Irreversibly. And no amount of stubbornness can fight biology.
