Levi’s entire world fit within this humble cottage, tucked away in their own little corner of the woods. Each morning smelled like pine — the sweet, syrupy scent in the early dawn. The nights were of campfire, like comfort, like life being lived in the hearth of the forest. He never thought that he could afford such a simple life, where the little things like growing vegetables and reading books mattered.

Levi's mechanical pencil lead snapped at the tip. He stopped writing at her question.
"Why do you ask?"
"Just curious." Hange glanced at him, then placed both of her palm at her nape, leaning to the sofa behind her.
Levi went silent for a moment. He opened his mouth to answer, then closed it. His head turned to face Hange beside him. His face unreadable.
"Why do you wanna know?"
