Summary
Simon faked his death to get away from the cult of Eden. He’s managed to make a home for himself on an uncharted, uninhabited island off the Florida Keyes.
Grace is kidnapped by a couple of people from Eden, who intend to ransom him for enough money to secure a political opportunity for the Father.
But the kidnapping goes wrong and Grace is tossed overboard. He washes up unconscious on the shore of a small, uncharted island off the Florida Keyes while Carl and Eva desperately search for their missing scientist.

When you awoke, it was not peaceful. It was not simple, as you’d been told. It was not to another face, catching you up to speed.
It was with the sound of shattering glass and the sound of your sputtering gasps as you came into consciousness before you were decidedly ready to be awake. It was with the first thing you saw was yellows and flashing greens, purple hair of a body on the ground in front of the broken pod.
It was to the feeling of cold air that was hard to breathe despite what you were told about acclimating.
It was with gasps and scrambling barefoot out of the glass chamber, ducking yourself out under the thick piece of solid black metal, avoiding stepping on pieces of shattered glass. You awoke not to peace, but to danger.

Summary
On his way back to Earth Grace starts to notice that things are not all they seem and he might not be as alone as he first thought. Whether his new guest is a God, an alien, a human or something in the middle, Grace is certain that first contact (the second time around) is not going as simply as he could hope.
OR Simon thinks Grace is an angel, Grace thinks Simon is a God, they both get weird about it. They do not get any more normal when they discover they are both just people (kinda), stuck together trying to navigate a new kind of hunger making itself known on the Hail Mary.
