“Why not accept her confession? Is she not your type?” Eli asks with a smile on his face when Norton is done talking. Norton frowns slightly, playing with the love letter in his hands.
“No, she’s cute enough – funny too, but. I’m not just feeling it, you know?” he answers, reading over the sweet words on the pastel pink paper. It’s cute. And he’s flattered, really, but the idea of dating her doesn’t really sit right with him.
Eli hums lightly. “You get along pretty well though. Do you have some other reason you’re unwilling to go out with her?”
At that moment the door of the locker room opens, and the boxing team members start flooding out, ready to start their own practise. Norton’s eyes lock on them, trying to see if they can spot the familiar, short figure among the team. And he’s not disappointed when Naib emerges from the locker room soon after. His gaze follows him as he watches the older boy laugh and joke around with his teammates, and he hums noncommittally, not really having listened to Eli’s question.
“Oh, I see. I guess I should have known,” Eli huffs with a soft, good-willed laugh.

"I thought," He started but hesitated and bit his lips, the spirit motioned for him to continue with a nudge of his head. "that fox spirits are cruel."
"They lie and trick, atleast that's what ma used to say." Naib continued fidgeting, avoiding the kitsune's gaze.
"She isn't wrong, we kitsune are vile and not to be trusted."
Naib never forgot the strange encounter he had in the forest, of the masked spirit haunting his dreams.
