Summary
Sunny Suzuki, despite having too much on his plate already, had told his friends the truth about Mari's death, lost his right eye in his fight with Basil, lost all of his friends, and spent his sixteenth and seventeenth birthdays in a doctor's office. Not to mention, the effect that everything prior had on his mental and emotional health is starting to become frighteningly apparent. Now, he's 17 1/2, living in a busy apartment, surrounded by exhausting traffic, rude classmates, and an overworked mother.
That is until he answers a call from Kel for the first time since he left; he finds himself diving into a spark of determination to fix his broken relationship with his old friends and make things right again.
AKA, he takes a trip to Faraway during most of his winter break (1 week, 12/26 - 1/2) with Kel, Hero, Aubrey, and Basil. He spends New Year's with them.
Takes place after the good ending.

Mari didn't mean to do it. She really didn't. All she wanted was for the recital to be perfect... She would never hurt her brother like that.
And yet she did.
It's been a year and a half since Sunny was put into a coma. The group has splintered, and Hero does what he can to bring everyone together. Though it's a little strange that they all seem to start sharing dreams not long after. Unsure of where they are, the gang must search through the depths of this strange new dream world in order to find Sunny and help him wake up.
This game had a bigger impact on him than any of them realized, huh?

On the night of the recital, Mari kills Sunny.
She doesn’t know what to do, frozen, trembling, so she hides his body in the chest, alongside his broken violin.
Resolved to confess, her desperate prayers are suddenly answered when Sunny knocks at the front door, smiling as if nothing had happened.
Sunny is back.
Back with his friends.
Back with his violin, miraculously restored.
Back to a normal life.
But Mari knows. She knows the thing wearing her brother’s skin is not him. Even if it keeps pretending. -

Summary
On the night of a recital that never happened, Basil goes missing, and within 24 hours his body is discovered at the bottom of Faraway Lake.
There's another place where none of this happened, a place in Sunny's dreams where he'd prefer to stay. But between Mari's sudden disappearance and Basil's odd behavior, even his dreams seem to have turned sour, and Sunny is forced to look outside into a world he hasn't seen for years.
There's a truth to be found between these realities. Four years ago, Sunny pushed it away, but sooner or later he'll be forced to consider it again: How did Basil really die?
