Summary
James Potter hadn’t expected this. Maybe he should have.
The last thing he remembered was dying. Fine, that was okay—mostly. He wasn’t going to live forever. But while he was waiting for the afterlife—if there even was one—his mind suddenly began to flood with the fragmented memories of his son. Alright, no problem; he’d heard a few legends about the dead being able to watch over the lives of their loved ones.
But then, he suddenly opened his eyes to find himself at home. In his eleven-year-old body. Okay, he was certain this wasn’t the afterlife.
And why was Snivellus looking at him like that? If James’s memories weren’t betraying him, his first meeting with that boy hadn't gone down quite like this.
Whatever this strange, second-chance hell was, James Potter was certain of one thing: he definitely hadn’t signed up for it.

Summary
When Micheal Wheeler opens his eyes again, he is met with the retreating backs of two children on bikes. They laugh and shove each other, yelling about seeing each other tomorrow.
Is this hell?
“It was a 7,” a voice beside him breaks through.
“Huh?” Mike returns before turning towards the young voice.
He is met with the image of a 12 year old Will Byers standing in his parents garage.
Can’t be hell then, is Mike’s first thought.
Before Mike is able to even reconcile the last 10 seconds of his life, Will twists his head and scrunches his nose.
“The roll. It was a seven,” a young Will continues. Mike can do nothing but stare. “The demogorgon, it got me.”
Mike’s mouth opens slightly but nothing else comes out.
What the fuck is going on?
--------

But then his eyes opened once more, and it wasn't dark. On the contrary, it was so bright, so... familiar. It hurt to look, but the sight in front of him was too much to ignore.

Summary
Falling.
She was falling.
Or, at least, she thought she was falling. To be honest, it didn't really feel like falling.
Hermione was used to gravity, the natural and dangerous pull-of things, items, people-towards the ground at all times. She knew what it felt like to jump between the moving staircases while rushing to get to class, the flip of her stomach when persuaded, no, forced, to ride on the back of a broom with Harry, to spin on a Ferris wheel with her father as a child. She knew the law of gravity, and remembers testing on it in Primary school. Hermione knew what gravity was.
This was not gravity.

Summary
Lee Everett was a good man, despite his past. He closed his eyes for the last time at the end of Season One, meeting an inevitable fate. It was unfair, how quickly it had all gone badly. If only there was another way, and if only there was the freedom for more choices...
Sara is a 24 year old woman, working a dead-end job with no family to speak of, not even a cat. Since she was 14 she'd found comfort in Lee's character, despite his brutal and unlucky fate. The idea that even a criminal could be a kind guardian to a scared little orphaned girl was a concept she relied on during dark childhood days. One night, after her hundredth replay of the game, Sara wakes up to find herself in Clementine's treehouse, with a man pounding on a sliding glass door...
(I cried again at Season 1 of TWDG, and couldn't find a fix-it fic. This is a self-indulgent, save everyone route because fuck it, Lee should have lived.)
