When he breaks the kiss he notices Steve’s pupils have blown wide.
“Oh. That is like doing things to you, isn’t it?”“I mean - to know that no one has touched you like this before... Yeah, it’s doing things to me. Can I clean you up?”
Eddie is mortified at the mention of the current state of his pants. And even worse, the image of Steve babying him. He makes a choking noise and wonders if it’s possible to actually die of embarrassment.
And then Steve adds “-with my mouth?”There's only a limited amount of times Steve can stop himself from kissing Eddie before he snaps.

“How do I fix this?”
“There’s nothing to fix, Steve. There's nothing you can do.”“I don’t want you to avoid me.”
“I don’t know how to act around you anymore. And I don’t want to make you uncomfortable.”“You don’t.”
Eddie looks at him like he doesn’t believe him. “Not even after… what you heard?”
Steve shakes his head. “You’re one of my closest friends and I miss spending time with you. Is that completely selfish of me? I don’t want to force you to hang with me if it’s hard for you.”
Eddie gives him a small smile. “Spending time with you is the easiest thing in the world, Stevie."
He wasn’t supposed to hear it but now he knows Eddie is in love with him.
He doesn’t want to lose his friend, so they remain as close as ever. Except now, Eddie can be honest about his feelings.

Summary
Eddie said it like a joke, laughing and moving on. Like the possibility of Steve riding it was so ridiculous.
Steve heard it as a challenge, a way to prove himself to Eddie. Prove to Eddie that maybe he doesn’t really know Steve at all, that maybe Steve still has some secrets up his sleeve.
Steve knew what he had to do.
“Ten bucks says you can’t stay on that thing either,” Steve shouts over the noise of the bar, leaning over the table toward Eddie. If he had cleavage it’d be pushed up. As it is Eddie’s gaze dropped down anyway, going a little glassy.

Eddie doesn't think Steve can ride the bar's mechanical bull. Steve sets out to prove wrong. So very wrong.
