    He always wants the place to look good when the kid is over. The Compound is big and white and echoing and lonely with just him and Pepper living here full time, Natasha visiting when she isn’t babysitting the illegal Captains America and checking in on Frozone, and Rhodey only here when he’s not prepping himself to be the next goddamn president of the United States. He likes it when the kid stays, he looks forward to it, and wants him to see it as a place to be comfortable, at the very least. He sleeps there two nights a week, anyway—more if he’s been stabbed or tased or something else stupid as shit and needs to be observed overnight in the medbay. It ought to be some semblance of a home.

He’s good at bringing people together, like the people of Queens, who go out of their way to help Spider Man, no matter what walk of life they’re from. Tony is pretty sure that even some criminals take pride in being able to help their local vigilante from time to time. What Peter is the best at though, is trying to give Tony a heart attack. Tony spots Peter and tells the teacher he needs to ‘borrow’ him for a minute, and the class watches as Tony puts his arm around Peter’s shoulders. All the way back to school the class pesters Peter about his relationship to Tony. They want to know if Peter is Tony’s son. They have no idea how much Peter wishes he could just answer that in the affirmative. Fluff and minor angst.

Now that Peter has Spider Man and the Stark Internship, he’s living his dream of spending time with his father. He only wishes he could tell him the truth... tell Mr. Stark that he has a son and that he is that son. Then one day Happy finds out, and Peter feels like he’s got a co-conspirator… having someone else at SI that knows is a huge weight off of his shoulders.

That way his kid won’t have to transfer schools and lose his friends.

    Mr. Morita asks Tony why he’s doing this, and Tony says it’s for his kid, but doesn’t specify who that is. A fun fic with mostly outsider POV’s and some angst. Does this count as a Peter’s Field Trip To Stark Industries story? I don’t know. Is it outlandish? Absolutely.

    It’s not usually a problem. Tony doesn’t usually have to work so hard to hide it because Pepper, Happy, and Rhodey know. He can be himself around them. Right after the compound had been built, Tony had been worried about moving in with the Avengers full time… worried they’d notice his tics and figure out his secret. Then Germany had happened and the team had split up before they could fully move into the compound. Tony had had two years where he hadn’t needed to worry about it. Now that the Rogues are back and are living in the tower full time, it’s on his mind again and stressing him out. The problem? Coffee mugs. Well… coffee mugs, and other things and the fact that when he’s stressed out, the tics get worse. But mainly coffee mugs. Coffee mugs are the bane of his existence.
    OR
    Tony has Tourette Syndrome and he doesn’t want the Avengers (or Peter) to find out about it. The newly returned Avengers think Tony is just being a jerk when he knocks things off of tables and counters, because they think he’s doing it on purpose. Despite the angsty summary, this is all about the team coming back together and Tony learning that the people in his life can’t accept him as he is until given the chance to know him as he is.

    Part of the pardon deal granted to the Rogue Avengers is that they have to move back into the compound for six months. They aren't any happier about it than Tony seems to be. This is the first time they’ve actually been around Tony this much. Sure they’d gone on missions before they’d fallen out over the Accords, but they’d never lived together. Now all of their assumptions about him are being challenged and they’re getting their first good look at who Iron Man really is. One by one they start to realize that Tony needs to be part of the little family they’ve formed, and make it their mission to bring him into the fold.

    OR

    As the team rallies around Tony, they start to see positive changes in Tony's relationship with his intern Peter, and in other parts of Tony's life as well. We see Tony and Peter through the eyes of the newly returned Rogues.
