    He’s in between two thoughts; what to eat when he gets home and what comic he should either start or finish when he makes a terrible, unpredictable mistake.

    He boot hits something large and metal, and suddenly the snow beneath his footstep jumps up, huge metal teeth protruding from underneath, they sink themselves into the flesh of his ankle, white hot pain renders him entirely mute as he stands on one leg, blinded by the pain that jerks through his lower half of his body.

    He falls into the snow, his trapped leg now bent at an odd angle, courtesy of the weight of the bear trap he’s stepped in that keeps it from tipping over, his face pressed against melted snow and that’s when he finally screams.

    Looking down they see two different things. One is a room destroyed for a dear friend, a friend that is supposedly an enemy. The other, a wall with chains and knives, knives coated in ruby royal blood.

    Despite his playful nature, Mikey has proven to be an incredibly skilled fighter, possibly one of the best Karai has encountered.

    It was a chilling thought, but not a naïve statement.

    This angst/hurt/comfort story is set five months after Splinter's death (Post Season 4 TMNT 2012)

    Mikey ran away to April's Farmhouse after getting coldly berated by his brothers during a messed up patrol. The brothers went to find him there but soon as they found each other, Mikey got bitten by a giant mutated snake while protecting some mutated gophers

    What results is after another argument is Mikey finally lashing out to his brothers, venting out years of pent up anger and sadness. But soon Mikey got sicker and was dying due to the strong venom, much to his brothers' horror

    Seeking help from the mutated gophers, the brothers are in a race against time to find a cure for the poison in five hours or the poison will kill Mikey.

    It is there that the brothers learn the true value and power Mikey holds in the family as well as realising how close they came to breaking apart and vow to do anything to set things right

    Can they save their baby brother from an agonising death before it's too late? Will they be able to rekindled their brotherhood or is it the end of the Hamato Clan?
