“...Look,” he finally starts, hoping he looks more composed than he feels. “Dog Man and I have a deal. Of course I wanna spend Christmas with you. But he wants to as well. And he’s your dad too. That’s why we’re compromising,” he explains, clasping his fingers together. “That’s why we alternate Christmases.”
“So why don’t we just spend it all together?” Li’l Petey insists, confusion starting to lace his tone. “If we spend it all together, then we don’t have to alternate. You and Dog Man don’t have to spend Christmas without me and I don’t have to miss anyone. Win-win!”
“No way,” Petey tells him, not liking the route this conversation was taking.
“Yes way,” he retorts, refusing to take a no without a valid explanation.

Mitsuba takes Kou's hand in his and squeezes it, so tight it almost hurts. “Take me somewhere,” he says, and when he looks at Kou, there's a familiar desperation written across his face. “Anywhere. I want to be distracted. I don't want to think about anything.”
Kou is understandably terrified of the situation and what might be going on, but he cares about Mitsuba more than he'd ever like to admit. So of course, when he wants something, he'll give it to him.
“Ok,” he says. “I have an idea of where to take you.”

When the clock strikes midnight, it’s just him, his desk, and his typewriter. But then his piano starts playing on its own, and Petey’s reminded that he’s not alone — Greg shows up on his piano bench, like he does every night.

“You look like a wet dog right now.”
“You are changing the subject. I am not clumsy, I am dignified and respectable and I know that if you were awake you would have said it was the best kiss of your life,” Galo proclaims. Like he knows what Lio would say ever.
Lio's about to say something really smart, just to goad Galo a little more, when he stops and snaps his head in Lio’s direction.
