He could see a kid wanting it all, only to be told that he couldn’t have it. He could see a kid wanting safety, only to have that taken from him. He could see a kid who wanted to be protected rather than the one who protects.
He could see himself.

Summary
The spider's legs spun their web around him and he almost breathed out in relief when the door smashed open and Miguel tore into the room, his entire body screaming violence. A talon tore through the space, ripping it slightly open. Enough for Miguel to jump through before the portal closed behind him with a resounding sound. And suddenly Miles was alone in a box with the other man and no place to escape.
On accident Miles and Miguel get teleported into another world. But instead of sending them to world 42, the scanner gets confused by their DNA and sends them into a completely different world. One in which Spider-Man only exists as a story.
Or: Miles and Miguel land in our world, argue, have an existential crisis, argue some more, watch a movie, destroy the world, save the world and somehow come to an agreement.

Miguel had just about had it. The fog behind his eyes was reaching peak levels of unbearable, and he hadn’t even assigned out the latest anomaly missions. Lyla had been nagging him about lying down for the past several hours, and if he had the choice, he wouldn’t give in.
But he didn’t have a choice. That once-a-month, itchy feeling under his skin was starting to creep up, making Miguel groan in protest. Why did it have to be him? Couldn’t literally anyone else be plagued with this odd, instinctual nagging that he find a dark, warm nest, and curl up in it? He sighed, giving into the fate of being a growly, unproductive mess for the next three days.

He engineers a device to jump to other dimensions, creates the Spider Society, keeps the fabric of reality intact.
He won't break.
