Vash isn't human. There's so much to him that is too much, too different, too weird to be comfortable around people. Humanoid, not human. Slowly, he starts to let Wolfwood see what that means. 5 times Vash showed Wolfwood the ways he wasn't human and 1 time Wolfwood made Vash realize that didn't matter.
Or, Vash is subjected to the mortifying ordeal of being known.

As Sora’s best friend, Riku pretty much knew everything about him, but above all else, he knew these things to be fact:
1) Riku is Sora’s best friend
2) Riku is stronger, faster, and wiser than Sora. He is older, after all.
3) Sora is definitely the most dense person on the islands
4) Sora is in love with Kairi (and definitely didn’t realize that Kairi loved him back, see fact #3)
5) Sora is an orphan.Then Riku opened a door, and found that all of his facts were wrong.

Summary
It was so wrong, that Riku looked forward to this every night. It was so sick, that as soon as he felt the rush of pain from the symbol on his back that hurled him from sleep, Riku couldn’t help but grin — even though he knew Sora must feel that same pain or worse. He knew that he should stop coming to calm Anti-Sora and let morning send the darkness away. But Riku couldn’t — wouldn’t — stop. Sora needed him. Riku would always protect him from the darkness, no matter how torturous it was to accomplish.

Summary
Sora wrote Riku a postcard for every world he visited.
Not having a way of sending them, he kept them in a small, white box, fully intending to give them to his best friend when he finally found him. But, he never got the chance and eventually, the postcards were shoved into the back of a closet, forgotten among the many mysteries of the Mysterious Tower.
At least until Riku decided to find them.
" Hey, what's this? " Riku asked, holding up a small, worn box.
Sore felt his heart stop. " Nothing! "

A version of events in which Joseph doesn't inexplicably loiter outside the castle-turned-hotel before breaking and entering, and in which Caesar only gets crushed by the body of one Joseph Joestar, which turns out to not be as fatal as getting crushed by a large slab of stone.

“We don’t know what might be in there,” Lisa Lisa was saying. “We will wait for Kars. That’s an order, Caesar. Protecting the stone is our first objective.”
Caesar tilted his chin down, closing his eyes, and it was like a stone statue had suddenly moved while Jojo had been absently contemplating it. He practically had to fight off shivers, because sheesh! Way to make this bizarre situation even more uncanny!
(The hell was going on in Caesar’s dense head, anyway?)
“Sensei, I’m sorry,” Caesar was saying. “I can’t obey.” But he was saying it like a vengeful god, so the apology didn’t really come through. “You know this is a blood issue. It’s a Zeppeli problem!”
Whoowhee, definitely a vengeful god.
