Summary
Five years after the fall of Arasaka Tower, Johnny Silverhand lives a quiet exile on the Oregon coast, wearing a dead woman’s face and a borrowed name. The legend of V burns bright in Night City. Johnny does not.
He plays dive bars. Takes the occasional merc job. Tries not to think about the silence in his head.
Until the silence answers back.
When something returns from beyond the Blackwall, Johnny is forced back onto a collision course with the city he fled, the ghosts he never buried, and a future neither human nor machine was meant to survive. As strange anomalies ripple through the Net and old powers begin to stir, the line between flesh and code begins to blur.
Night City has always forged legends.
This time, it may forge something else.

Summary
"You're a smart man."
"I've been told."
"Then why?” She wasn't asking it combatively. She just wanted to know how a man who had spent years constructing something careful and deliberate out of the rubble of his own worst choices had looked at the situation and decided that this was worth the risk of dismantling it.
Ali was quiet for a moment. Then he said, "Too often, wisdom is nothing but the most stagnant form of caution.”
“She was trying, and he took that from her. He took the trying." He gestured toward the bottle and took a sip. "As long as you get to try, there's still salvation.”
Maddy looked at him.
He looked back, and there was something in his expression that was neither apology nor explanation, just the plain acknowledgment of a thing that had happened and had been chosen and could not be unchosen. "She deserved someone who got angry," he said, quietly. "She had enough people being careful."
or
A Maddy introspection on a what if, on the strange ways grief has of showing up, and on the blank canvas left behind by the series finale.

Summary
Madeleine Perez did not come to Seattle to be impressed.
She came for the job — executive assistant to Ruby Bennett, CEO of BluTech, environmental engineer, widower. She’s seen the interviews. She knows the public version: composed, articulate, untouchable. What she isn’t prepared for is the private one.
Ruby Bennett is not difficult. She’s precise. There’s a difference — or so HR would like her to believe. What Madeleine finds instead is a woman who built an empire out of grief and has been running it at full speed ever since, because stopping would mean feeling. Everyone at BluTech has learned to work around her edges.
Madeleine Perez has not read that memo.
She doesn’t flinch. She doesn’t placate. And she has a strict policy against people who say one thing and mean another.
Still Waters is a slow burn about grief that performs as function, and the specific disruption of someone who simply refuses to be managed.
The world starts in black and white. Colour arrives slowly.
