Things… change.
Ghost supposes that many would probably say that they get better. They do get better, don’t they? Yes, they do. Things change, and they are better. The Infection is gone, and Hollow is safe, and Hornet is happy, and so Ghost is fine. Perhaps they are selfish, and they mourn a dying world that they can never return to, and they are more alone than ever before, but they’ll get over it.
…And it’s not as if anyone will notice if they don’t.
Ghost goes back in time, kills the Radiance, and sets everything right. They tell no one, and do it on their own. It is only after their family is happy, and the kingdom is safe, and the Abyss is soothed to sleep, that they realize just how lonely it is as the last remaining piece of a future never to be.

Summary
Turns out you can't just blow up a planet to make a space-faring species go extinct. Immediately after Samus' mission to ZDR, she finds out that some of the X Parasites survived, and there's no telling where they'll turn up next. And so, though her transformation into a metroid is far from fully halted, she sets out to do what she has always done: finish the mission.
But the X Parasites are not mindless monsters waiting to be gunned down by overwhelming firepower, and if they have their say, the situation will quickly turn into one that an arm cannon can't solve.

Nina still wasn't sure exactly what she thought about the place. She had looked it up, of course, but that hadn't helped. Some people had lamented about the worst customer service ever, some had talked about how the café was undoubtedly a secret hideout for criminals or just used for money laundering, some had complained that the barista was just a bad person and everyone else was stupid, a few had called the barista handsome and mysterious, some had criticized the decor ... but absolutely everyone had agreed that the Crow's Nest served the best coffee in town, maybe even the best in the country.
Nina had no idea why she had decided that this, of all places, was the right place for her to start over.
