Or: JD is losing his mind trying to find the perfect gift for Veronica's fifteenth birthday, when really, all he needs to do is look up at the sky.

Summary
Veronica didn’t know how she could still be so in love with him, with the boy she hadn’t spoken to since last year, but she was. She was pathetically, terribly in love with him; a kind of love she didn’t think existed outside of books or love songs. The kind where she felt like he was a part of her, and when they weren’t speaking, she felt the lack of his presence physically in her body. Like her heart was made of wax and it was slowly melting in the sun, disintegrating into mush, every day she didn’t talk to JD. To her other half since she’d been nine years old. Veronica was an overthinker, always had been, but even she’d never been able to imagine a scenario in which she had to live without JD. It was unfathomable, to her.

Inspired by Stupid Song by Olivia Rodrigo. Also, this fic is a part of my Before They Convinced You life is War universe and I reference it here a lot, so you should probably read that before you read this. Or don't. Do whatever you want.

But what happens when at the predictable Westerberg High Veronica Sawyer comes in and floods JD's life with sunlight? And maybe, in some roundabout way, Lydia's?
Basically a very random crossover AU where JD and Lydia are siblings, no one dies, Veronica isn't a sheep, and everybody's weird in the best way.
